Còisir Sgìre Phort Rìgh
Portree District Gaelic Choir
Choir Information: Last update March 23rd 2020.
As of this week the choir will cease choir practices and all engagements until the Coronavirus Pandemic is over. We will be back as soon as it is safe to do so. Be safe everyone and follow Government advice for the sake of yourselves and others.
The Music, Gaelic and Translations for this year's Mod in Inverness in October is now online . Click on Songs then select Mod 2020 .....
The choir would like to wish Vic Palmer all the best for the future. Vic has been in our choir since forever and we wish him a speedy recovery from his recent illness. He is moving down to England and will be greatly missed by all his friends in the choir. His dedication to the choir in travelling over from Conon Bridge every Tuesday evening is above and beyond what should be expected and it will feel very strange not to have him with us at the Mod.
Congratulations to the choir for a successful Mod in Glasgow as they were first equal in the Music marks with Aberfeldy choir. They share the Staffinders Quaich. The choir finished 3rd overall out of 6 choirs that competed, just 1 point behind 2nd place Aberfeldy and just 3 points behind the winners Stirling. Congratulations to Stirling Gaelic Choir.
The next Mod in 2020 will be held in Inverness next October.
The Silver Card Gaelic Class lessons are now all online.
New members will be made very welcome and knowledge of Gaelic is not essential as our Gaelic Tutor will provide support on pronunciations and translations. These will be found online on our website.
Special Dates for choir activities can be found under Events.
Please Note: You should let Karen know if you cannot attend choir practice for any reason.
